Qiang Embroidery: Vajra

羌绣·金刚杵

  • Dimensions: 75 cm × 75 cm
  • Materials: Silk, silk threads
  • Year of Creation: 2014

The Vajra motif, inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist symbol of indestructible power, represents resilience and the source of life. In the design, a crescent-shaped earth and a vine bearing eight plants illustrate the idea that all things share a common root. Scattered leaves at the top reflect nature’s cycles of gratitude and renewal.

In 2015, this artwork became part of a licensing collaboration with the Japanese brand Shu Uemura, featuring on the packaging of the Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil. The indomitable Vajra, embodying vitality and blessing, perfectly aligns with the spirit of the product. Each stitch embroiders a blessing of eternal prosperity and happiness.
