On May 22, the 2025 Tibetan & Qiang Embroidery Training Program for persons with disabilities, jointly organized by the Qionglai Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Huazhen Tibetan & Qiang Culture Museum, successfully concluded with a graduation ceremony held at the museum.

The event was attended by Mr. Wang Zhen, Director of the Qionglai Disabled Persons’ Federation, and Master Yang Huazhen, Director of Huazhen Museum and a national-level intangible cultural heritage (ICH) inheritor. Both leaders delivered heartfelt remarks and personally presented graduation certificates to the trainees.

The 15-day intensive training program welcomed 30 participants with disabilities and was conducted on-site at the museum. Through hands-on instruction in traditional stitching techniques and embroidery practice, the program aimed to equip participants with practical skills in Tibetan & Qiang embroidery.

Beyond artistic training, the program also sought to enhance cultural engagement, build confidence, and foster economic empowerment by helping participants explore embroidery as a sustainable livelihood.

This initiative reflects a meaningful step toward making intangible cultural heritage inclusive, ensuring that those who are often overlooked have a pathway to self-sufficiency, creativity, and dignity through the power of traditional craft.
